When Samuel Blaser joined the Swiss Jazz School Big Band a few years ago, it didn't take much time to find out what a talented trombonist he was. Although he was the benjamin of the band he sounded already mature for his age, and he showed a lot of enthousiasm and dedication. With his first recording under his own name he convinces me that he has it all: in his own little waltz he proves to be a talented composer, he surrouds himself with great musicians and he plays beautiful lines with a warm sonority... . I'm sure we will hear a lot more great music from Mr. Blaser in the coming years!"

"I had the opportunity to see Samuel Blaser 's progress over the past 4 years since our first meeting in the Frauenfeld International Jazz masterclasses 2000. There he was chosen in the award winner ensemble, under my musical direction, impressing myself and the other masterclass teachers with his mature sense of musicality. Since then he has coming to me for private tuition and we have even performed together in the Frauenfeld festival Big Band 2002 under the leadership of Matthias Ruegg. He has proven to be a diligent student, creative in his determination to understand my and other teachings and to manifest these informations into his own interpretation. He is a sensitive player with a nice sense of imagination. His understanding of harmony and polyphony is progressing consistently and is already at a good level. Samuel has a beautiful round sound.
