Todd Neufeld was born on August 5, 1981 in Huntington, NY. He began playing the guitar at the age of twelve and was soon playing professionally. In 1999 Todd attended New York University, where he studied both English Literature and Music. There, Todd studied with guitarist Bruce Arnold, as well as with drummer Tony Moreno. It was also at NYU that Todd began his interest and study of classical composition and counterpoint.
Since receiving his BA in 2003, Todd has had the good fortune to perform as a member of the Lee Konitz Quartet, Gerald Cleaver's NiMbNl, the Dan Weiss Group and various bands with Ohad Talmor, Michael Attias, Loren Stillman and many others. He has performed at New York venues such as Carnegie Hall, Birdland, the Blue Note, the Jazz Gallery as well internationally. With travels around the world, Todd takes great interest in the various forms of improvised and composed music from different cultures. Todd currently resides in Brooklyn, NY where he participates the area's growing music community.
Tyshawn Sorey (b. 1980) is quickly earning a reputation as abandleader, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. Since arriving on the creative music scene of New York in 2002, he has performed and/or recorded with a wide array of artists such as Wadada Leo Smith, James Moody, Werner Klausnitzer, Butch Morris, Dave Douglas, Don Braden, Muhal Richard Abrams, Hamiet Bluiett, Christophe Schweizer, Anthony Braxton, among many others, and is currently a member of saxophonist Steve Coleman's group, Five Elements. Tyshawn is currently working on several commissions for his 'that/not' quartet and various ensemble configurations (for premiere in early 2008), and a solo drumset composition (for premiere in early 2008) to be performed by world-reknowned percussionist, Peter Jarvis."
Thomas Morgan was born on August 14, 1981 in Hayward, California. He began to study the cello at the age of seven and continued until the age of fourteen, when his attention turned to the double bass. In May of 2003 he completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Harvie S and Garry Dial. He has also studied with Ray Brown and Peter Herbert. Thomas has played concerts in New York and abroad with such artists as David Binney, Steve Coleman, Joey Baron, Josh Roseman, Brad Shepik, Steve Cardenas, Kenny Wollesen, Gerald Cleaver, Adam Rogers, and Kenny Werner.
