Cantus Planus for piano

CHF 15.00

Cantus Planus is a solo piano composition written specifically for pianist Russ Lossing. Inspired by the structure of a plainchant by Renaissance composer Guillaume Dufay, the piece explores how minimal material can create maximum impact. Using a single rhythmic pattern transformed at three different speeds, the composition builds a gradual acceleration before decelerating back to its original tempo – a musical journey that mirrors the cyclical nature of medieval chant itself.
