Jazzdor has been supporting Samuel Blaser's work for over a decade, starting from the creation of his duo with Marc Ducret and later his trio with Peter Bruun. In this double album, we can observe similar formats, almost as if mirrored by Russ Lossing, another collaborator of Blaser's for over ten years. These records, initially as a duo and then as a trio with the experienced drummer Billy Mintz, narrate the story of a unique bond. The compositions of these two musicians unfold their art without clichés, flowing in an uneven yet delightful manner. The sound is rich and devoid of unnecessary embellishments. The band's powerful lyricism carries everything away from conventional norms, while still emanating from their own source, allowing their music to develop freely. Listening to them, it is impossible to remain indifferent. The small ensemble immediately captivates us and together we envision uncharted territories, spaces shared in complete tranquility. It is open, groovy, unexpected… and it resonates deeply.
